We are thrilled to announce a new monthly event at Audubon Acres: the Little Owl Lecture Series!
This event serves as a fundraiser to support our educational programs and signage updates within our archaeology museum and along our trails at Audubon Acres. Audubon Acres is a designated site on the National Historic Trail of Tears and is located on the ancestral homelands of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas, Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, Cherokee Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. This series is a two-part presentation featuring a 2 mile round-trip guided hike to Little Owl Village, followed by a one-hour presentation by community members and representatives from our partner organizations. Appropriate footwear is required for the History Hike, the trail can be narrow and slippery in some places. Tickets are available for purchase separately, as a combined ticket price, and as a livestream for the lecture portion! Example Ticket Scenarios: "I have already done a history hike to Little Owl Village, but the evening presentation sounds fascinating." Welcome back! Just register for the "Guest Lecture" ticket on the date/session you plan to attend. "I have a time conflict and won't be able to attend the evening presentation, but the hike sounds nice."
