PINE TREES GET NO RESPECT!
March 2, 2022, 1pm-3pm
Audubon Acres-900 N Sanctuary Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421
Charlie Brown's choice of Christmas Trees at times casts a disparaging view on the pine tree. In this class we will talk about the not so simple pine tree. We will see what they have in common with ginkgo trees, and other conifers. You will learn to identify local conifers and will also cover topics such as pioneer characteristics and succession, the wildlife habitat that they provide, associations with other hardwoods and pines that they form, and end with a local success story of land reclamation. The goal is to re-introduce you to our conifers so that we view them in awe as we walk about the woods at Audubon Acres.
