"The Art of Rooting" Book Signing
Join us on September 16th at from 1-2pm for a book signing with Chattanooga Audubon Society member and local author, N'nako Kande'.
One of our regular members has been walking the trails at Audubon Acres almost daily for several months and wrote a book about her time spent here and our lovely natural resources. She credits her well-being and a lot of her recent creative projects to her deepening connection to the trails at the Audubon Acres.
N'nako will be at Audubon Acres with her new book, "The Art of Rooting" and her coloring & activity book of the same name. Come have a book signed by the author and listen to her discuss how nature shapes us as humans. This event is free with admission to Audubon Acres.

Originally from Côte d’Ivoire, N’nako Kandé, has lived in Chattanooga for the past 18 years but it is the hiking trails that she especially calls home.
N’nako is an eco-therapy advocate, and all her creative and community work reflects her passion for nature, art, and culture. She is a mother of four, an artisan, a performing poet, a painter and an illustrator and a writer. With 8 books currently to her credits, she refers to the Audubon Acres as her sanctuary and to the Chickamauga Creek as her muse. The lyrics of her recording poem The Self-Love Blessings (available on all streaming platforms) and the inspiration for the stage performance of the same title, come from her time spent at the Audubon Acres. Her new projects The Art of Rooting are also inspired by her time at Audubon Acres. You can find her work on Amazon and may run into her on a trail here or see her in the water where the kids once mistook her for a mermaid. You can also contact her in person at [email protected]. |
