2023-2024 Homeschool Program Schedule
Winter Wildlife Walk- January 11th, 9:30am or 1:00pm. Recommended for ages 5+
Embrace the beauty of winter with a leisurely wildlife walk at Audubon Acres. ❄️🚶♂️ Explore the wonders of nature, discover animal tracks, and enjoy the crisp winter air. This 1 mile round trip hike will take us through forests, fields, and over S. Chickamauga Creek. Along the way, we'll discuss the winter habits of various wildlife species. This hike is not suitable for strollers and is recommended for those 5+ 🧤 Don't forget to dress warmly! Layers, boots, and a refillable water bottle/snacks are recommended. Binoculars are provided for the first 16 Participants. Bring your curiosity and love for nature!

Skulls, Pelts and Animal Tracks - February 13th, 9:30am, 1:00pm Recommended for 7+ Roughly a 2 hour program
Welcome to a thrilling day of discovery for homeschool students and those who are students at heart! Join us for Homeschool Day, where we delve into the fascinating world of wildlife through interactive experiences with skulls, pelts, and animal tracks. This hands-on adventure is designed to ignite curiosity, encourage exploration, and deepen your understanding of the diverse creatures that inhabit our natural surroundings.
We will spend some time in Walker Hall examining the difference between Herbivore and Carnivore skulls, then Look at the animal pelts, discussing how they camouflage in their habitats. We will also be going on a walk looking for animal tracks and signs.

Great Backyard Bird Count - February 17, 2024 8:00am-12:00pm
8:00am-12:00pm David Aborn will be doing Bird Banding
Get up close with bird species as Dr. Aborn weighs, measures and tags.
TOS ( Tennessee Ornithological Society) will be doing guided bird hikes throughout the morning
Create your Own Replica Egg from the C.E. Blevins Egg collection to take home - $10 per Egg
