Mindful Movements in Nature
About the instructor:
Beth Jenkins holds a BS in Special Education, MS in Speech Pathology, is a Certified Yoga teacher, meditation facilitator, mindfulness instructor, and more. "As a child of Science teachers, I learned at a very early age, the numerous benefits of nature. Movement and stillness in the woods has helped guide me through life. I have a strong desire to share my skills and techniques, so that others learn strategies to cope with the ups and downs of life. As well as enjoying all the free benefits Mother Earth and her inhabitants offer. " |
Join us on July 12th from 9:30am-11:00am to learn mindful movements for the whole family!
We all get the wiggles sometimes and feel like we need to move our bodies and quiet our brains. Thankfully, Beth Jenkins is going to be teaching us tools and strategies to improve our wellbeing through movements and stillness in nature. Participants will then be able to take these skills and apply them on their own time whenever they need to. This course is especially helpful for those who work indoors, kiddos who are in school all-day, or those who need extra help regulating their nervous system. "Time in nature [...] is an antidote for stress. In a recent study researchers found that being in nature reduced feelings of isolation, promoted calm, and lifted mood among patients." This class is for the whole family! Tickets are $3 for members and $8 for non-members. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call 423-892-1499 |
