One of the primary focuses of our volunteer efforts will be the removal of privet, an invasive plant species that threatens the native flora and fauna. By pulling privet from our grounds, we can restore balance and create healthier ecosystems for birds, insects, and other wildlife.
In addition to privet removal, volunteers will also be involved in moving mulch, clearing unwanted plants to make space for native species, and cleaning trails to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for visitors. Food and drinks will be provided to keep you fueled and hydrated throughout the event. You'll have the opportunity to connect with fellow nature enthusiasts, learn from experienced environmentalists, and gain a sense of fulfillment knowing that you've made a tangible difference in preserving our local environment. |
No prior experience is necessary to participate in "The Great Big Volunteer Day." Just bring your passion for nature and a willingness to learn. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor work.
Together, let's make a difference and create a greener, more sustainable future for our community. We can't wait to see you there!
